I keep telling ADK the summer climate in Louisiana is unsuitable for human habitation, but he never listens.

that's the only upside to our heat, no humidity

We got a window unit right away, natch. When it gets really sticky, we use one of the standing fans directed out the window to reduce the humidity and the other pointed at the ceiling in the central hallway to keep the air circulating.

It got to 109 F here in August a few years ago. Of course, that was immediately after our central air went down.

it feels like a blast furnace when you go out in the worst of it
