Hello Seekers
No human can say they know God, in the absolute sense of the meaning, to know. To know God is to know everything, for God is everything. Each one of us perceives God as they choose to see God, since there are so many views of God in the world, we choose that view which most closely aligns with our vision.
As one would have the mental image of the ideal mate, and carry this ideal around, each one also carries an image of God. This becomes a reflection of God as we each see him/her. Perhaps this is exactly why there are so many of us.
Since Divine Mind is everything, no version is wrong. We all share a sacred spot, and in that spot all things holy to us reside. The mental image may change from person to person, but the emotion, the feeling, the reverence remains the same. Love is love, across the board and across the world.
Just like the blind men groping to understand the elephant, so humans decide God is whatever their experiences leads them to believe. It was only when the blind men pooled their experiences together and compared the totality of it all that they became aware of the fact an elephant has rough skin, a thin tail, a long nose, and floppy ears. But, the elephant is more than the sum of its individual parts.
Alone each was only partial knowledge but taken together, the whole elephant emerged.
If someone believes in a punishing God, it is because they would have an easy time administering punishment. If someone believes in a merciful forgiving God, it is because they, themselves are merciful and forgiving. Each one forms God from his own ideals and what is acceptable in his mind as Divine. Some see a God who balances love, justice and love. Still others don’t care to speculate.
It is, as if the Divine Mind, in order to see Itself, split into many parts, and by looking at the different versions as a whole, comes to understand Itself better. Life then becomes a great in gathering of knowledge, and without each one of our views the answer would not be complete.
Life is an elaborate learning device.
Illusions are meant to be seen through, but not until the usefulness of the illusion is complete.
Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we could all sit down and discuss our views as did the wise blind men admitting none of us can have the entire picture, but enjoying each others perspective of what God is to us, without having to assert that only our view is correct, or passing the whisper of judgement.
There are aspects of God unique to each and much could be gained by agreeing to talk about what God is, instead of arguing about what God isn’t.

A man takes his son to the zoo, and stops by the elephant cage.
The boy asks: "what's that long thing hanging down?"
Dad: "That's his trunk".
Boy: "No, not that. the other one."
Dad: "That's his tail."
Boy: "No, the long thing in the middle."
Dad<blushing>: Well son, that's just something.
Boy: "Gee Dad, I asked Mom about this last week, and she said it was just nothing."
Dad: "Son, your mother is spoiled."
