Again, I regret the lack of any formalized style; it's heart, not schooling (I was an art major).

Some of these are revised from 4 or 5 years ago; some are less than a year old. Since they don't seem to get better, I don't date them! LOL!

I WANT TO STAY IN TODAY

In my wandering days present
as in the days of the past,
I pick up an hour
to keep. Today, I found
the day I want to stay in.
But, the past hours say "No",
and the hours of the future,
although hidden, beckon me
to search them out, to know
them as well, and to take a
of of them with me as well.

I love the lines "Today, I found / the day I want to stay in."

I have felt that exact sentiment - sometimes a moment in time is the moment that you could live over and over again when everything is absolutely perfect and the world stands still.

Thank you for this beautiful sentiment.
I want to be just like Grace Kelly. Except the cut-off-head part.

Resonated....!!!

BTW, there is no "bad poetry" here. Keep writing. Keep exploring yourself.

Devon! Thank you for the compliment! I appreciate that you'd read them at all. As I go through my older (and some "more current") writings, I see corrections I needed to make; we all grow! The fact you picked up on my favorite line about "I pick an hour to keep" means a lot.

I'll try to keep my drivel to a minimum; some are love won/love lost (and some are just self pity), but the one's I am re-working are none of those.

I like this forum above the rest. Thank you for starting it. I stated earlier that I am now delving into the other writings here in hopes of picking up a clue (or two)!

You have a lot to offer. I said before that I am not a big poetry fan, but I read everything you write, and I encourage you from the bottom of my heart to use this forum as it is intended and write more. Grace is no phony either. When she says she likes something, she means it. You have fans!!
