Did you go to the LA Times Festival of Books this year?

It looks like it was a fun event, not just this year, but any year.

Have you been ever?

It is fun?

Is it a whole day affair or maybe more?

Would you recommend it to someone?

No, I have never been to the LA Times Festival of Books. Several years ago we were headed there but by the time we got finished with lunch in Westwood it was too late to get into the event. IIRC, parking was a bitch around there but now they're having it at USC - a neighborhood I typically try to (literally) steer clear of unless I have to get off the freeway for some reason.

I went to Book Expo America (an industry show for publishers/book dealers, etc.) when it was held in Los Angeles in 1999 or 2000.

Why the popcorn?

It looks cool and outdoors.

The popcorn is for the wait and the expectation of things to come.

Well, I'm eating popcorn right now.

If you're thinking about going to it this year you'll have to wait another year.

It looks like it was this past weekend.

I was in the USC area only once, ca 1970. The LA Rams were playing a football game there for some reason. (Only NFL game I've ever been to also.) After leaving the parking lot and getting on a surface street we encountered some locals having some fun with the fans. I seem to recall someone yelling something about "fucking white-boy hippies" or similar just as a bunch of eggs landed on the car.

Mayhaps they were doing it for Trayvon.

ETA: The Rams played at the LA Coliseum, which is pretty much next door to USC.

Thanks.

Hey_Pulgosa

Are you looking to buy near the Schindler House? :stoni1:

I don't know anything about the West Hollywood area.

I try to steer clear of West Hollywood.

Unlike the majority of Angelenos - I eschew the west side.

Good grief.

Do not google image search the words I laughed out loud without quotes.

We looked at 2 places...one up there and one in PVE which was on a bright, clear day so I am somewhat bias to that.

I would take Palos Verdes Estates over North Kings Rd. - especially if the property has an ocean view.
