On June 8, 2012 at approximately 10:09 a.m. Charleston County Sheriff's deputies responded to the 5400 block Hwy 165 Hollywood in reference to a single car, single occupant accident.
Kelly Kraus, of the Charleston County Coroners office, identified the victim as 23-year-old Damon Robinson, of Hollywood.
Robinson was traveling at a high rate of speed ran off of the left shoulder of the road causing the vehicle to strike a tree then a utility pole. He was ejected from the vehicle and died of blunt force injuries.
The Charleston County Sheriff's Office Traffic Squad and the Charleston County Coroner's Office continue to investigate the accident.
Hwy 162 near Dixie Plantation Road is open. The accident was cleared from the road earlier this afternoon
