Topics I've Started

Today I learned...

Mandrax was actually a combination of quaalude & diphenhydramine.

I used to get strips of mandies for 2 bucks each. They were packaged like individual life savers & came out of mexico. They eventually disappeared around 90' or so.

In a pinch, silicone mixed w/ unsanded grout will make a low rent thinset mortar that will hold up well, even on vertical surfaces.

I had a small tile patch to do & what I thought was thinset turned out to be grout. I buttered the wall with grout & used a tube of clear silicone over it. It bonded mighty fine.

Ibanez now has a line of 8 string guitars.

Don't ask me why. Fucking things are going to look like a harp pretty soon.

My wife should not be given the task of taking my boy to pick out his gear for baseball season.

$60 bat for a first time little leaguer, are you fucking high? How bout a $30 bat bag? For one bat, one glove & a helmet. Sweet chocolate jesus.

U.S. is producing more oil than we have capacity to store.

17 January 2013 - 11:21 PM

The weekly EIA report came out today and one of the noteworthy data points was the Cushing, Oklahoma storage numbers. Already at a record, Cushing added another 1.8 million barrels to storage sending total Cushing stocks to 51.9 million barrels of oil in storage facilities at the energy hub.
There has been 6.3 million barrels of oil added to Cushing during the last 6 weeks. To put these build numbers into perspective, Cushing oil inventories stood at 28.3 million barrels for this time a year ago, which is a build of 23.6 million barrels in a year.

there is just more US production, than there is US infrastructure in place to deal with the trending upturn in this production.

Read this shit & be amazed.

Bob is a mid-40’s software developer versed in C, C++, perl, java, Ruby, php, python, etc. Relatively long tenure with the company, family man, inoffensive and quiet. Someone you wouldn’t look at twice in an elevator.

He also figured out how to pay the chinese pennies to do his 6 figure job for him.
