The first frame looks a little funky. I think it's because the stomach area is a little compressed, he needs to be a little longer or the legs need to be lower. Still a good effort.

Yeah, UD has to work on proportions. I commented on the "tiny arms" in an earlier episode. I'm sure it must be hard, I can't even draw a simple human face.

My first mother in law was legally blind and loved painting. I noticed when she painted that she could only look at one tiny portion of the canvas at a time. Her horses and humans looked very much out of proportion but I attributed it to her not being able to see the entire painting at once. In the years since, I have noticed that many artists can't seem to get proportions right. It must be especially hard.

I think you bring up a great point Ankhy! One has to work in general first and then down to details later.

In figure drawing class, there's a 4 step process:

1. Stick figure
2. Geometric shapes
3. Finalizing the form
4. Shading and details

I sketched up a quick example to show what I'm talking about...

It does help and make a difference.

I traced UC's avatar and then I traced/redrew daffy into it...

And just to prove I can draw daffy without tracing, here's an example using the same 4 step process, I usually cut it down to 3 just starting with the geometrics.
