A crystal heart
Shattered into a zillion pieces
Every little fragment a small world of fire
Burning brighter than the whole
Take one and eat it
Take all and burn with me
Because the love won't stop
Even if the heart is ground into nothing

Most of the time
she thought she was on this path by accident
we already know she didn't arrive by her own design
Looking back
all of the mistakes that seem so well planned are easily seen
How else can you land smack dab in the middle of where you belong
Unless all along someone meant for it to happen
What can anyone say if one day we all look around and exclaim
Perfect

Starcrossed
is just another way of saying
We have met going different directions
I don't see anyway of going your way
But, I will
'Cause the thought of continueing on with nothing
is too unbearable
now that I've seen your face
Let me be where you are now
and tomorrow forever
'Cause the fire in your eyes
has lit a spark in my soul
and the path I was traveling is cold and dark
Be my Sun and my moon
Let me be your firm Earth
Let our orbits be joined by this pull
that I feel upon my heart

Is there love here
Tell me if there's love here
I've got to rest
and there is no rest unless there is love
Please say ther is love here
I've gotta rest
Please
tell me
lest I die once more
on a cold night

Something Left Undone
Labor with what zeal we will,
Something still remains undone,
Something uncompleted still
Waits the rising of the sun.
By the bedside, on the stair,
At the threshhold, near the gates,
With its menace or its prayer,
Like a medicant it waits;
Waits, and will not go away;
Waits, and will not be gainsaid;
By the cares of yesterday
Each to-day is heavier made;
Till at length the burden seems
Greater than our strength can bear,
Heavy as the weight of dreams
Pressing on us everywhere.
And we stand from day to day,
Like the dwarfs of times gone by,
Who, as Northern legends say,
On their shoulders held the sky.

There is a crack under the door
Where I can see the light inside
One more closed door isn't a problem
Raised on Gilligan's pablum
One more day on the wrong side of the door
Won't add much to the delirium tremens
It would be nice to see more of the light
than what shines through the crack
under the door

Frenetic kinetics rainin' down on the midnight oil
Mental calistentics makin' the mind come unglued
If it weren't for you it would be just another meaninless day in space
'cause my clock is set to the beat of your heart
Lettin' me know that the trip always ends right where it starts
In your arms

Inspiration slides a little further away
Each day that I don't see you
I would know just what to say if only
you would walk in the door
or call or email
But there is no word from you
so I have no words that do justice
to the emptiness of a lonely heart
If the world was just us
and simple
The pain would not be any less

It would be a shame to let this holiday cheer go to waste
I smell the gentle scent of your hair
just as if you are here
I hear the sound of your steps upon the fallen snow
Openning the door, your smile fills the room with warmth
Enfolded in your arms
I will not open my eyes
nor awake from this revelry
