Full Version: The Kingdom in Symbols

Tree Hugger
If, my friends, you can see the metaphoric nature of life, you will understand how one thing can stand in the place of another thing of every grander nature. You will be able to understand how you have been on a journey, and encountered mountains, and that the peaks in the outer world, are easy to scale, compared to the inner peaks.

We were told to reach for the unreachable and hope for the impossible. No one can transform the whole world, however the inner world can be transformed so that the one doing the transforming becomes the hero of his own journey, and when this is seen and accepted, this reflects in the outer world of the physical. You cannot be the ruler of a kingdom, which is invisible to you and that you don’t even acknowledge exists.

If you exchange the outer world for the inner one, you will find you have been steadily moving forward without realizing it. You hold within your mind, the sum total of the entire world. Humans are composed of body, spirit and mind. All things physical can find their counterpart in this inner realm.

The book of Thomas tells us, that Christ, taught his followers to make the outer like the inner and the inner like the outer. When one sees the ability to alter the inner world and make Their kingdom a more beautiful, balanced, loving and generous place, that changes the way, the outer world is viewed as well, and the world itself is altered by what is seemingly such a small change. However, any change affects the entire web of consciousness to which all minds are connected.

Those who seek to change the outer world must first change the inner one to be effective.

It is to this mental realm, that Jesus referred when he said, “if you tell the mountain to move from here to there, it will!” Mountains are like huge blocks which stand in your way of forward progress. In the real world you must go around a mountain or try to climb it but never can you move a mountain for this is impossible. Unlike the outer world, mountains can and have been moved. Dualism, bigotry, ego, judgement, and pride and fear are all mountains. It takes the power of your will, to move such an obstacle out of your path as you then are able to go ahead in your journey back to where you began.

If one stands naked in the outer world, they shed their clothing and everyone sees their private parts. In the inner world, when one sheds their clothing, it is their true motives, which are uncovered and there is no place to hide their private thoughts from themselves. This is not a casual look. Some glance and run off like the man looking in a mirror and when he goes off he forgets what his real motives are because he really does wish to see.

Self- deceit began in the inner world and spread to the outer. The symbolic figures Adam and Eve, the human archetypes first began lying to themselves to cover over their motives from self-scrutiny, because only self lies could allow them to engage in unkind acts, which betray their connection to one another. This is why the great teachers of light taught in the same symbolic language. Both the Bible and the Book of apostle Thomas say that Jesus would not speak the truth except in parable form, because of the prevalence of self deceit in humanity, for this made the truth too unacceptable to look in that mirror. So, they sought to smash that mirror to pieces.

The Gnostic Gospels, can be used as a key of opening up the symbols in the Bible, and the centuries old beliefs about the kingdom, ascension, the fall and the end of days suddenly takes on a entirely new meaning.

The beast to be wary of is not the one in the forests of the earth, but the beast, which lives in the mind of every human. Only by taming this beast within, will the lion be able to lie down with the lamb. The two archetypes spring to mind immediately. Humanity began on earth trusting, innocent to selfish desire, altruistic, loving everyone and sharing, and then the beast arose from within the breast of man himself and gobbled up good motive and justification became widespread. The reverse of this is to subdue the beast within, and have the higher mind control the lower instead of the way things have been in the past.

Another passage says, that the enemy, walks about like a roaring lion seeking to devour someone, the literal thinkers looked to the outside world, instead of the inner world where the beast lurks. The enemy is the deceit of the ego which walks about on two legs as everyone at some time in life has been subject to blaming something or someone for their actions.
He made me do it, is a common phrase.
Justification became easier when they had an archetype available to blame. The Devil was the perfect archetype.

Jesus would have been stoned to death immediately, had he stood up and told the crowds they were all following their own selfish lower nature.

In the outer world, a person may look free, and walk without chains on their body, but in the inner world, be chained to many addictions and yearnings. He could let fear of something or someone, own him, and he becomes the slave. It is in the mind that one must free, to be truly free, as the saying goes, “the truth shall make you free.”

When Seth said in 1971, that, humans create their own reality, and many were stunned, but others were illuminated. Some, mocked the concept, and said that how could that be, since the world is made up of many realities. Seth was referring to this inner place of mind, which can be recreated, and altered just by changing one’s beliefs.

The valley of the shadow of death is the fear that death will obliterate the mind in ignorance of its own eternal nature. The ocean from which the beasts of Revelation emerge will not been seen off the coast of California and as Edgar Cayce said, even Armageddon is within the mind.

So when you read anything and apply it to the world outside your window, or across the world, or in governments or nations, do not forget to look inwardly and see if the metaphors match, and if you look hard enough in the mirror you will see God looking back.

The mind is a powerful tool. It is also a trap with no escape unless the value of emotions is recognized.
