OVERVIEW: Smack in the Middle Weeks like this are rare.
It would seem that developmental events are about to manifest.
Even if it would seem that nothing is apparent; past experiences would tell me that there are strong undercurrents at work on the world scene.
What manifests on a world scale also has is registering on our personal psyches.

The chief astrological influence now is Saturn opposed Neptune.
Neptune represents our hopes, that which is potential and yet to come; but what is still only a promise.

Saturn represents quite the opposite: the cumulative effects of the unalterable past dragging us down, seeking to tell us who and what we are based on our past record.

The real you actually exists somewhere in between.

The past does not necessarily truly define us, it is actually imperfect.
The future, or our potential does not fully define us; since it is rather unclear itself.
Experiences of the past teach us, the vision of the future inspires us.

So right now we’re all kind right in the middle between these two opposite perspectives; feeling, as it were, the exquisiteness of their contrasting effects.
The Earth is literally at its closest midpoint between these two planets.

I would not council for anyone to take any one of these two roads here; but maybe just to let the feelings that come up as you contemplate these things wash over you.

There is nothing much you can do now any way to magically erase the effects of decades or lifetimes of neglect.

A little pain in the soul might be a good thing right now, a little prick to make you feel alive at least.
That’s something; isn’t it?

You live; and if you were in Beirut, your home may have been destroyed, your family killed by an Israeli bomb; but you live and breath still.
That means something, right?

You may have lost everything due to the effects of your past actions (or inactions) coming back to you; but you can’t give up, you have to continue to carry on nevertheless.

A lot of malefics ("bad planets") line up this week.
The good thing about truly bad moments is that they do not last long actually, peace and tranquility returns to stay.

I have written a lot recently about how Saturn and Neptune coincide with calculated deception on the part of authority figures; whether it be because the ends justify the means, or not.
Those things are not to be dismissed right now.

It would wise to note what we are supposed to "think" right now; how things are portrayed, and who and what is to benefit thereby.
In other areas, more coarse and physical; the action of Pluto turning direct on Monday, September 4 could be quite devastating and life changing at least for some.

As would be the square of Mars to Pluto some days before on Tuesday, August 29.

At any rate, caution and tact may go out the window.

The fact that Pluto has become near perfectly perpendicular to the nodal axis raises the stakes all the higher.
This could be a very fateful alignment of people and conditions in the earth.
With Pluto its chief effect is to cause breakdown, decay, and dissolution; and object of which is subsequently reborn in another phase.
Its effects are final, not very neat, and with wide repercussions.

Mon, Aug 28
Early today (more so for European time zones) the power of ideas will be expanded and luminized.
The ability to sell or persuade others will be enhanced.
Discussions and debate should be appropriately lively and beneficial.
Literary and creative people should benefit well from focused work.
Spiritual work and contemplation should be equally fruitful.
(Mercury quintile Jupiter)

Tues, Aug 29
An array of veritable contradictory influences are present today.
Some people might feel highly motivated to act; while others confused and without energy.
The tendency to act in unethical ways may come up, and to be somewhat aggressive or coercive.
Breakdowns of physical objects (including our bodies through exhaustion) are possible.
Walking into areas that contain the possibility of bodily harm will be more risky than usual.
But for those with a goal and a mind to overcome, this may be your day to break past your previous barriers.
Today also Jupiter is in trine to Uranus, which means "sudden good fortune" or at least a temporarily expanded sense of zeal about positive expectations.
(Mars square Pluto, biquintile Neptune; Sun tridecile Pluto, Jupiter trine Uranus)

Wed, Aug 30
At some time today, the urge to use one’s mind or voice to one’s own gain today could be suddenly intensified.
Ethics and appropriateness may go out the window.
If however one keeps their self controlled, great breakthroughs in understanding or projective mental influence can occur.
Obsessive or compulsive thoughts may be hard to control.
(Mercury tridecile Pluto)

Thurs, Aug 31
According to some measurements today, Mars conjuncts the Moon’s South Node (Ketu).
Ketu however is of different actual positions according to different types of measurement; it is therefore unclear when an aspect to the Nodes occurs.
Today however according to a measurement that I have found success with in the past (true node, but not always) Mars conjuncts Ketu.

On the very same day today Saturn and Neptune perfect their opposition to each other; I’ve explained this influence to great length already in the overview above.
Needless to day, this could be a very strange, frustrating, and deadly day at least for some.

The square from Pluto would not seem to help when succor from pain would be wanted; Pluto makes the feelings go deep awakening hidden and dormant aspects of our psyche, aspects best left alone it would seem.
But every monster of the deep eventually must come out, does it not?
Eventually all hidden things come out: dragons, monsters, and those that wear human faces.
The light of truth eventually penetrates into the deepest crevasses and roots up all substance for redemption.
Think about those things today.
(Saturn opposite Neptune, Mars conjunct South Node, Sun conjunct Mercury)

Fri, Sept 1
This would be a good day to connect with your loved ones.
A kind note could be like Cupid’s Arrow.
Keeping one’s feeling from overpowering one’s sense of perspective however could be an obstacle to true communication as another form of love.
(Mercury conjunct Juno, Venus trine Pluto)

Sat, Sept 2
Carrying over from yesterday love and relationship themes continue.
Significance of relationships could be at issue today; whether they can vehicles to self-actualization or perhaps just ego-adornment.
(Sun conjunct Juno, Venus quincunx Node)

Sun, Sept 3
Today Mercury re-animates the trine of Jupiter to Uranus a few days past.
Hopefully as Pluto is now in the final stages of standing still in the sky and fully stop tomorrow; today’s peaking planets will help to mitigate and give "good spin" to otherwise dreadful stars.
Debate, study, and communications should be enhanced, as would persuasion.
Writers and speakers should be favored. God knows I’ll be hard at work at the next Astro-Success J
(Mercury opposite Uranus, sextile Jupiter)

Mon, Sept 4
Pluto is a very quiet influence, until it strikes seemingly without mercy.
It may be quiet for you, but you may hear about someone on the other side of the world whose life has suddenly not become so quiet for any number of reasons.
One can be assured though that what seems now powerful and strong is actually weak and cowardly.
In the end people always reveal themselves for what they are.
As Jesus said, "By their fruits shall ye know them."
The outer senses finally come to the same conclusions our intuition told us in the first place.

On the high end of things; it is Pluto’s job to wake up those too dense in the head to understand things any other way.
Eventually mercy becomes not the solution to matters and karma comes knocking on the door; rudely at that.

Is all lost?
Has the world gone down the tubes?
No, hope is eternal; but time is running out.
Hurry up; get your life in order.
Sorry, doomsday-mongers (you know who); take your apocalypse-fascination somewhere else. (Pluto stationary direct)

EXTRA: I love it when things surprise me.

I can see looking at my computer printout that on top of all the influences I have labored to lay out for you that there is another one coming on the heel of Pluto above you need to know about:

There will be a pair of eclipses 14 days apart starting on Sept 7: the light of the Sun and Moon not figuratively but literally "wink out".

This means symbolically the loss of consciousness through crisis, transition, or intense spiritual experiences.

Normal human senses fail when they are catapulted into other dimensions; a feeling of danger or fear is normal.

We just like to feel we understand what’s going on around us.
Therefore events personally or on a world scale could push along new evolutionary paths, whether we feel ready for them or not.
Eclipses also have the effect of overwhelming our brains, causing them to temporarily "disengage"; a description I am sure is not lost on you.

all times are EDT

The universe is really rocking and rolling right now.
The fun and games begin very early as the Moon enters exuberant and enthusiastic Sagittarius (3:02AM).

Less than one hour later, Vesta in Virgo opposes Uranus in Pisces (3:55AM).
If you are feeling worried about a loved one's safety and security, join the club.

This is amplified enormously by the long-awaited Saturn-Neptune polarity from Leo to Aquarius (5:56AM).
This sky pattern will form again on February 28 and June 25, 2007.
Steer clear of anyone or anything that brings confusion, chaos, fogginess and nebulosity into your life.
Saturn-Neptune oppositions only occur every 35 years and many people experience a potent tug of war between the material (Saturn) and spiritual (Neptune) realms of life.

Unless you are very wise and sensible, there is a great tendency to be unrealistic right now.
Try to be the Rock of Gibraltar to dear ones on the ropes.
Help the downtrodden and disenfranchised to the best of your ability.
Learn more about meditation and yoga.
Explore the fine and graphic arts to your heart's content.

Challenges may also manifest around the time of the First Quarter Sun-Moon Phase (6:58PM) - activating 9 degrees of Virgo and Sagittarius.
Cut through obstacles in your path with mental clarity and emotional calm.

Your mental universe is abuzz during the Sun-Mercury Superior Conjunction (12:50AM) at 9 degrees of Virgo.

You can think of this as a "Full Mercury" - with the Earth, Sun and Mercury lined up in the solar system, and Mercury on the far side of the Sun, but moving at top speed.
Ingenious ideas flash through your mind like meteors lighting up the night sky.

Research, reading and writing receive the thumb's-up sign.

A very powerful and exciting day is at hand as the month of September begins on a high note.
The Moon continues its movement through ebullient and expansive Sagittarius.
Opportunities are knocking across the board -- courtesy of a productive Vesta-Jupiter sextile of 60 degrees (1:49AM PDT)
and a flowing Venus-Pluto trine of 120 degrees in fire signs (4:10AM PDT).
The fields of education, business and the creative arts are highlighted.
It's important to let go of any challenges or worries that surfaced yesterday during the precise Saturn-Neptune polarity
and First Quarter Sun-Moon Phase.
There is also a terrific triple conjunction developing -- linking the Sun, Mercury and Juno.
Following last night's Superior Conjunction of Sun and Mercury, we now have a Mercury-Juno union in Virgo (6:46AM PDT)
and Sun-Juno union in Virgo (10:49PM PDT).
Whenever Juno is in the cosmic picture, stay emotionally and psychically empowered --
particularly on the relationship front.
Drop critical viewpoints like a hot potato.
Small is beautiful should be your motto as you appreciate all the little and wonderful blessings life has to offer.
Let the good times roll tonight as the monthly Moon-Pluto alliance (8:56PM PDT)
is followed by a lively and upbeat Moon-Venus trine in fire signs (10:40PM PDT).

Ethel,

Do you know much about astrology? I don't, and that's why I ask ...

I did a natal chart, and it basically said I was born weird.

Would you be willing to take a look at it, and see if it's on the up and up,

give me your impression/intuition ?

The Moon moves from introspective Cancer to outgoing Leo at 8:15 AM EDT. In Leo, the Moon is "sunny", dramatic, and generous. This is a self-expressive position of the Moon. We want to have fun, play, entertain, and get noticed. This is a time when we seek attention--when we want to stand out for our special qualities. It's a strong time for romance and any creative activity. The Moon connects to Mars tonight, heightening our feelings, awakening our impulses, and stirring our passions. Passionate liaisons occasionally begin under this transit. We are more in tune with our natural impulses, and less inclined to think things through before taking action. It's an excellent period for taking the initiative. Expressing our feelings comes naturally now, and we make no apologies for doing so! This transit gives us self-confidence and backbone without backlash from others. We are more resourceful and independent, and less demanding of people around us, which tends to earn us respect.

The Moon is void-of-course until the Moon enters Leo at 8:15 AM EDT.

If you are feeling ill at ease, grumpy or dismayed by recent skirmishes with the dark side of the force, join the club.
Every so often, it appears that the cosmos relishes a chance to throw a multitude of punches in your direction -- wondering if you have the mental stamina, emotional fortitude and physical determination to keep on trucking no matter what.
Thankfully, the all-clear sounds for the most part.
The Moon leaves void status by entering fun-loving and warm-hearted Leo (5:16AM PDT).
It's a great day for explorations in the creative arts, athletic outings and social events.
Women in particular may feel a sense of harmony and peace -- courtesy of a Venus-Vesta parallel (3:33AM PDT). This can be an asset for anyone who is focusing attention on business matters and investment planning.

The main fly in the ointment comes from a Sun-Mars contra-parallel that manifests during the evening (9:04PM PDT).
Steer clear of burnout, rash acts and inflammatory rhetoric that can lead to relationship disharmony.
Literary interests, library work and research assignments can keep you out of harm's way as the Moon forms a productive, 60-degree link with Mercury (10:57PM PDT).

The cosmos appears to be in full retreat and yet only for one brief day.

Lunar contacts are happening, but major planetary alignments are in suspended animation.
The Moon in Leo reminds you to regain your childlike innocence and sense of wonder about life. See the beauty all around you and come from the heart in vital sharings.

There's a tendency to go overboard during a lunar square to Jupiter in Scorpio (1:31PM PDT). The positive side of this right-angle sky pattern is to expand your mental horizons in bold, new directions.

Confusion and uncertainty can arise in primary partnerships during the monthly Moon-Neptune polarity (3:53PM PDT).
It is far better to explore the realms of photography, music, dance, film, theater and spiritual studies close to the time of this opposition from Leo to Aquarius.

Seek out the knowledge and wisdom contained within a philosopher's or mentor's teachings this evening as the Moon unites with Saturn (9:11PM PDT).
Sidestep the tendency to be downcast or lose faith in yourself while Saturn pulls strings for several hours. Logic, mental clarity and hard work can lift you out of the doldrums. Lend a helping hand to an elder in need of support.

So we have a second New Moon in Virgo this year. I suggest you take a moment and refresh your memory by rereading the last New Moon in Virgo Moon Message before continuing any further.

This is a special New Moon in Virgo for several reasons: it occurs at 29º, the Moon and Sun are conjunct the South Node in Virgo, in a T-Square with the North Node in Pisces and Pluto in Sagittarius, and all this occurs during a solar eclipse.

This will be an annular solar eclipse, where a narrow ring of the Sun is visible around the dark moon. This eclipse will be visible throughout South America and western Africa. For more information on the eclipse go visit NASA's eclipse web site: http://sunearth.gsfc.nasa.gov/eclipse/SEmo...06/ASE2006.html

Eclipses are especially sensitive when they conjunct the Nodal Axis because they enliven the collective memory of past deeds and the future evolutionary trends of our species. This solar eclipse represents the energy of the Virgo Sun being hidden from view by the Virgo Moon. So the readily apparent qualities of Virgo become subsumed by the unconscious properties and propensities of the constellation. It is easy to consider the dark side of Virgoan qualities like perfectionism and idealism; I know my inner critical tyrant quite well. Maybe you know yours as well!

What is not so easy is to imagine the dark side of the desire to serve and/or heal. This New Moon in Virgo at 29º, is asking each of us to look deeply at our own inner agendas, with a critical eye toward whether we do this work to get our own emotional and egoic needs met? Do you empower or dis-empower the people you help? Consider how much you walk your talk? Do you teach others to live better, healthier lives and still find yourself unable to change your own physical, emotional and mental condition? With the T-square to Pluto and the North Node, and Uranus in Pisces, the call to let go of self-gratification is quite big on this New Moon.

We also have a T-square with Saturn in Leo opposing Neptune in Aquarius and both squaring Jupiter in Scorpio. This is a T-square about the nature of power and the need to tell the truth. It has been with us since August 24 and will continue to be in effect through the beginning of November. Politics gives us a great example of how power and service can be misused. Our elected officials are supposed to be serving the people, yet more often they seem to be serving their own needs or those of their rich campaign funders. Over the last two weeks we have seen revelation after revelation concerning Iraq and other incredible misuses of power by the Bush Administration. Several congressional reports and some very interesting books by much respected journalists have come out in recent weeks and are bringing into light the lies that have been hidden from the American people for so long.

So what about each of us? What inner untruths can be brought to light on this New Moon? Look at your body, your mind, your heart: where is your pain? How much compassion and love are you willing to bring to bear upon that pain? How much can you extend that compassion and love out to the ones you most care about and then to the ones you least care for?

I feel an intensity building in the world and know that the only real defense against hatred and violence is basic human kindness and affection. I will end with a small section of the transcription I made of the HH Dalai Lama's lecture in Vancouver on September 8.

"From birth to death human affection is the main thing for a happy life. Compassion, forgiveness, lovingkindness; some people think this is a religious thing. These things are not exclusive to religion. Basic human good qualities are separate from religion.

Now today, our world, at the beginning of the 21st century. Look back to the 20th century, I think we will remember it as a very important human century. During that period I think humanity carried out a lot of different experiments: political, technological, economic. There were many advances. But the amount of human suffering through war makes it the century of violence. Including terrorism, the violence of Sept 11 doesn't just happen out of nowhere. There are centuries-old grievances involved in these actions, conflicts of ideology even.

Now we have to make an effort to make this century a century of dialogue. Using force against disagreements is out of date. We must talk and respect others as a part of ourselves. Because of high energy use, rising living standards, the whole world is heavily interdependent. The concept of We and They is no longer. The whole world should be an OUR. The concept of war is eliminated when there is no enemy!

With dialogue, just a few words is not sufficient. The way of life should be advanced. Consider others as a brother and sister. Respect them no matter how difficult it is. We can find some way to find a solution: compassion is an important attitude….

Every event is due to many factors. This is very complex because of the nature of interconnectedness; also the nature of the cycle of causes and conditions. Things are not easy. A calm mind is very essential to deal with complex issues and problems. Even positive events—we must have a calm mind to see them clearly. Destructive events we should not want, but it depends upon many factors. In order to overcome that we must overlook many causes and conditions. Too much emotion, even positive ones, is not helpful to analyze precisely complex situations.

In order to develop a calm mind one key factor is a compassionate attitude. We cannot promote human values through policing: Only through reason. I think our educational system must pay more attention to warm-heartedness; in a secular way." HH Dalai Lama, Sept. 9 2006, Vancouver Canada

New Moon in Virgo - Solar Eclipse, Friday, September 22nd, 2006, at 7:45 AM EDT at 29 20.

On Friday morning, an especially potent New Moon occurs in late Virgo--potent because it's a Solar Eclipse. Because this solar eclipse occurs in the sign of Virgo, work and health matters will be in focus. In the sign of Virgo, this eclipse is about new beginnings when it comes to work, attention to details, fitness, health regimes, and daily routines.

This eclipse squares Pluto, suggesting that deep, transformational change is required of us now. This is a time when we should build our powers of healthy, constructive discrimination; learn to be more pro-active; start a new health and fitness routine; set up specific routines that will help us manage our lives in positive, mindful ways; and learn the "power of now" and of mindfulness. This is a time when we can learn to master the "little" details of our day-to-day lives in a more organized manner so that we can free our minds of clutter. For some of us, circumstances are such that we need to pay more attention to our work and health routines.

Occurring in the last degree of the sign of Virgo, and with Pluto involved, flaws in an important system in our lives are revealed around the time of the eclipse and it's time to start fresh. We may find ourselves completely re-working this area of life. Virgo rules awareness of the body, making full use of resources, attention to details, organization, self-preservation skills, order, and critical analysis. Virgo sees flaws in systems, whether those systems are our daily routines or our bodies. Striving for perfection can be a wonderful challenge, as long as we don't allow ourselves to become overly focused on flaws and feel guilty or perturbed over them. This is where Pisces, Virgo's opposing sign, comes in to help. Compassion, and finding beauty in imperfection, is our path to balancing this energy, symbolized in the North Node's position in Pisces.

Major developments in the personal areas ruled by Virgo are likely to occur over the course of the next 3-6 months. However, not everyone will feel the effect of the eclipse with the same intensity. Those whose personal planets are activated by the degree of the eclipse will feel its effects on a personal level. To personalize the meaning of this eclipse in your life, see our article on the Solar Eclipse here. See also our New Moon Report.

An eclipse occurs close to the nodal axis, and this eclipse is conjunct the South Node in Virgo. This suggests that we may be hesitant about making changes, preferring to cling to the past.

This phase of the Moon occurs at 29 degrees and 20 minutes of Virgo, affecting people born with personal planets and points at 27 to 30 degrees of the mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces) and 0 to 1 degree of the cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn) most significantly.

I know my inner critical tyrant quite well.
chuckle.gif

Well, it does square Pluto but since it's a separating square, I think it's likely that we all just had a great chance to transform and most of us let it slip away. The power of the square is dissipating rather than strengthening.
Therefore, the tension needed to bring about transformation will be weakening as well.
Many people will have just gone through a health crisis.

Virgo isn't just about health and service, it's an Earth sign, so it also has to do with making oneself grounded in reality. Since the New Moon happened at the final degree of Virgo, that opportunity has now faded. Either people learned to ground themselves, or they didn't.

Pluto involves corruption and being placed in Sagittarius, it relates to philosophy. Those whose corrupt philosophies have been recently exposed can breathe a sigh of relief for a while.

Tomorrow morning (EDT), we begin a whole new chapter when the Sun enters Libra at the Equinox.

Choose how to be in a better relation to others.

My 2 cents.

If you are a frequent reader of this Calendar, you will know how often the cosmos appears to lift your spirits only to dash your hopes within 24 hours.
Be on your best behavior today to prevent that fall from grace from happening.
You should have been as high as a kite last night and filling your brain with positive thoughts.
Now -- suddenly, although not without warning, because you are becoming familiar with the rules of the road in astrology -- it's as if there is a cave-in and you are trapped and gasping for air!

A Mercury-Uranus parallel (7:59AM) can act as your savior, since it may help you tap into unknown reserves of mental, emotional and physical courage.

However, a long void Moon unfolds from 10:12AM until 9:55PM (when the lunar orb leaves peaceful Libra for intensive and passionate Scorpio).Void Moon cycles are often disturbing, bizarre and hard to decipher, but the big problem concerns a square from Jupiter in Scorpio to Neptune in Aquarius (4:34PM).
Any frictional tie between these two planets can coincide with a vast increase in confusion, uncertainty, self-deception and all-around chaos.
Of course, you can turn these energies completely in a different direction -- if you have a potent willpower and deft mental attitude.
In this case, the Jupiter-Neptune square can help you expand your higher consciousness, get in touch with a game-plan for fulfilling your destiny in this lifetime, and actually assist you in making progress toward reaching long-sought goals.
Jupiter and Neptune made this same sky pattern on January 27 and March 15 of this year, and this alignment today is the third one in the series.
Good luck in staying on target!

(TIME IS EDT)

If you have made it through the last five days relatively unscathed, give yourself several gold stars. Even if you have stumbled here and there, the learning experience can be reviewed now with the perspective of 20/20 hindsight.

As indicated at the end of yesterday's entry, there is an inspiring Venus-Vesta conjunction in Virgo this morning (5:23AM). This can be a gold mine for women and men -- connected to your most important and valuable investments.

Breathe an enormous sigh of emotional relief with the arrival of Sagittarius Moon (9:17AM) following 2 days of somewhat turbulent Scorpio Moon. When the Moon enters Sagittarius, many people immediately start feeling more exuberant, happy-go-lucky and enthused about life and the future. It's a good two-day cycle to promote educational, literary and publishing endeavors.

Learn more about the healing arts and alternative medicine while the Sun in Libra forms a flowing trine with Chiron in Aquarius (3:24PM). Build bridges of trust and understanding with like-minded neighbors and friends in your greater community.

This is reinforced by a harmonious Mars-Ceres trine in air signs (5:25PM) and a Mercury-Pluto sextile this evening (11:27PM). The latter aspect doubles as an intriguing doorway into the fields of psychology and metaphysics.

Thought for the Day: The moon takes 29 days to orbit the Earth. It travels past all the planets. Tonight, if the sky is clear, we will see it travel past bright Jupiter.

If today is your birthday

A friendly sky will smile on you this year, so set your sights high and don't settle for anything less. Your aspirations are worth pursuing. A bold burst of strength will make everything naturally fall in place. Happy birthday to Avril Lavigne, 22.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Aries (March 21 — April 20)

It appears that a mistake or regrettable development has taken place. It can only be arising for one reason — so that you can identify a problem, then fix it. The effort, although involuntary, will pay off.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Taurus (April 21 — May 20)

Silly things are getting you down and depleting your energy, but none of the irritation is as serious or as relevant as it may seem. Take a stoic approach and things will look a lot better.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Gemini (May 21 — June 21)

There has been enough said and done concerning a certain drama. A small point of conflict has been blown up into a big row. Analyzing it further will only lead to more exasperation. Improvement is on the way.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Cancer (June 22 — July 22)

A crucial discussion will soon be held. Someone will tell you something. You, in turn, have information that is better expressed than repressed. You will be far better off once that's done.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Leo (July 23 — Aug. 22)

Certain doors have shut, but you have, in other areas of your life, an enviable array of choices. Embrace the positive opportunities before you. They are extremely valuable. There is enough there to work a much-needed miracle.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Virgo (Aug. 23 — Sept. 22)

This time is ripe to initiate big, positive changes. You need to make something happen, change something unacceptable and right a wrong that has long been ignored. You will succeed at reaching your objectives.

Libra (Sept. 23 — Oct. 23)

Last year you encountered some serious drawbacks, but now the ball is starting to roll in the right direction again. The tough part of a process is over. All you have to do is to simply allow things to flow to a happy outcome.

It has been so difficult to make progress lately that you have come to expect failure, but in reality the scene is set for some successful developments. Be ready to take advantage of all that transpires by keeping a positive outlook.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sagittarius (Nov. 23 — Dec. 21)

You may feel that you ought not to have to be the one who gave way in a standoff. Try not to let what is ultimately a small bone of contention get out of control. You must rise above it.

Capricorn (Dec. 22 — Jan. 20)

Having no expectations is a good way to avoid disappointment. Though this may work for some people , it won't work for you, especially now, given your determination in regard to an important goal. Events will turn to your distinct advantage.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Aquarius (Jan. 21 — Feb. 19)

You have been trying to find a solution to a difficult matter, but you are still not sure if you are any the wiser. The whole drama will carry on playing itself out with or without your input, so promise yourself to stop worrying about it.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Pisces (Feb. 20 — March 20)

Jupiter's favourable alignment has begun to work its magic on a domestic drama. Lately, there has been stress and struggle on the home or family front, but soon there will be a great sense of calm, comfort and fulfilment.

Don't fall back into negative behavior patterns as the Moon makes its monthly rendezvous with distant Pluto in Sagittarius (7:23AM).
While a Moon-Pluto conjunction can strengthen your willpower and perseverance, it can also stop you dead in your tracks due to overoptimism and pride.

Making matters more challenging are a Sun-Saturn 45-degree tie (8:09AM) and Mercury-Uranus 135-degree contact (6:26PM).
The Sun-Saturn liaison can send zingers of fear and limitation in your direction while the Mercury-Uranus link increases nervous tension and anxiety.
On the other hand, both alignments can turn you into a successful entrepreneur, CEO and scientific wizard.

The uncertainty factor increases while the Moon in Sagittarius enters a void cycle from 4:46PM to 6:02PM as the lunar orb enters the third earth sign, Capricorn.

After 6:02PM, keep a steady gaze on career plans, options and strategies.
Helping you stay on course is the monthly Moon-Pallas conjunction in Capricorn (2:18AM tomorrow).
Innovative ideas are ripe for the picking this evening.

Asteroid watchers should also note that Ceres in Aquarius is on the verge of making a station and shift direct on Monday evening October 2. The qualities and themes of Ceres -- including nurturance, productivity, the land, agriculture, gardening, food and Mother Nature -- are very potent over the next few days.

Full Moon in Aries

After the intensity of two cycles of New Moon in Virgo, it is time to lighten up and celebrate the cheerier, Arien side of life. Fun and adventure are good overall themes for any ritual celebration on the Full Moon in Aries. Aires is the first sign of the zodiac and rules new beginnings. The Aries Full Moon is the best Full Moon to put some concrete action behind a desire to begin anew! So if you spent these last two Virgo cycles looking deeply at your inner motivations and/or your unhealthy lifestyle choices, and have decided to make some adjustments, this is the best Full Moon to take a leap of faith and release your desire for a new beginning to the universe.

Since Aries is a fire sign, releasing is best done through burning, and fire ritual is best done with safety in mind; so make sure to use a cauldron, indoor fireplace or a stone fire circle at the beach to do this ritual. On an Aries Full Moon your intention is best released with these qualities in mind: spontaneity, wonderment, curiosity, adventurousness and innocence. There are few times in an adult life when we can begin anew without dragging along our past pain, fear and worries. But this is the Full Moon to strive for releasing your intention with childlike hopefulness and inner faith. Know that what comes from your strong intention will be evolutionary, supportive and…. well, a big adventure! So smile and let it fly!

For those of you who just want to have some fun, this Full Moon of the child is best celebrated with playfulness and adventure. Jupiter and Mercury in Scorpio are always up for mysterious puzzle solving of any kind; the harder the better. The Venus/Sun/Mars conjunction in Libra will make enjoying the company of others very easy. So… I'm thinking a treasure hunt or a game of intrigue and mystery. But remember to be together in lightness and joy, and open up to the healing magic of play.

Aries also represents our instinctual warrior nature; the raw animal part of us. Though it is true that most animals fight and kill for food and territory, we humans have the intelligence to garner our resources without the fight. The truth is, war is an outmoded technology and must be abandoned. It is a solution that rarely works and only brings with it increased suffering. How perfect is it that the dwarf planet 2003 UB313 has been named for Eris, the Goddess of Warfare, Strife and Discord. I am currently writing an article about the depth astrological interpretation of this choice and will post it on the site when it is finished.

Like last year, our government is still at war as the Moon waxes to its fullness in Aries, the warrior. But now, thanks to Jupiter in Scorpio we are hearing the terrible truth about how Iraq has in fact made us less secure and exaccerbated the growth of terrorism (as Mercury makes its way through Scorpio, I am sure we will hear even more of the awful truth.) And unlike last year, it seems freedom in America, especially basic constitutional rights like habeus corpus are now the favored target of a deluded, morally corrupt administration and an insecure, impetuous Congress; both of which appear to be running scared.

We can all use the mirror of our corrupt political system to look at where we run scared and act impetuously in our own lives. Look where you have acted impulsively and brought emotional or physical harm to others through your own misunderstanding. Could you have listened more, negotiated more, trusted more, (all Libran qualities) and through these acts behaved more consciously?

The raw sexual energy of this Aries Full Moon will definitely be mellowed by Venus/Sun/Mars conjunction in Libra. The desire to connect deeply with "the other" will be very strong on this Full Moon. This is a Full Moon to embody the innocent, nonjudgmental kind of love that Libra likes best. The Aries Full Moon is the time to remember that we are born knowing only love and to celebrate and share this precious gift. Though our lives seem to seesaw between achievement and loss, love and pain, there is a childlike innocence that still lives within us all. This tender hopefulness continually rekindles our spirit with an unwavering belief in human goodness and love and enables us to rise up from failure.

So here's to the successful launching of your new beginnings!

The Pisces Moon (all day) is a dreamy influence. We are inclined to daydream and perhaps stray from our regular routine a little. Paying attention to details is not a Pisces Moon preference. The more positive elements of this Moon position are likely to express themselves in the hours before and after the Moon trines Jupiter at 8:42 AM EDT. Happy feelings, the desire to "do good" and to honor our inner code, and faithfulness are characteristics of this Moon-Jupiter transit. We are more tuned in to the "big picture" and less inclined to worry over details. However, Venus semi-squares Saturn this afternoon, which can put a damper on social relationships a little. People may be cool with their affections and emotionally distant. It's best to avoid new financial undertakings, as they may prove to be "money pits" as time passes. There may be anxiety or troubles with regards to matters concerned with the feelings. Romantic disappointments, unrequited love, separations, and broken engagements are the more negative manifestations. We tend to lack social confidence at this time and some of us adopt a shy, formal, or reserved social manner. This transit is best used for reflection--something that comes naturally with a Pisces Moon.

The Moon is void-of-course from 4:34 PM EDT, with the Moon's last aspect before changing signs (a square to Pluto), until the Moon enters Aries tomorrow, October 6th, at 1:33 AM.

October 20
With the Moon in Libra all day, in addition to the Sun, Venus, and Mars, the spotlight is on social relationships, negotiation, compromise, and balance. Creating order is the focus, not necessarily through tidying or organizing as was the case while the Moon was in Virgo, but rather through pleasing interactions with others and aesthetics in our environment. We tend to solve problems through diplomacy, and we are more able to put aside our own emotions in order to achieve the peace we crave. The tendency now is to avoid direct confrontations. Decisions do not come easily. Seeing both sides to any given situation is the main reason for hesitation. Fear of losing others' approval is another. The Moon is approaching its New phase, exact early on the 22nd. With this Balsamic Moon, the tendency is to reflect rather than do. New projects are best left until after the New Moon.

"I try, in my work, to represent myself as though I am the other. We are the other. "
Orhan Pamuk, 2006 Nobel Prize winner for literature.

Because Libra rules all forms of relating, I believe it might be worth beginning with the most important of all human relationships: our stewardship of this planet. I'd like to quote from an October 8 NY Times science article titled, "An Elephant Crack-up", which highlights humanity's undeniable role in the horrific demise of the all-important social fabric of elephant life; especially among adolescent male elephants that have witnessed first-hand violence against their relatives, and have in response become rampaging killers of humans. "…in Elephant Breakdown, a 2005 essay in the journal Nature, Gay Bradshaw and several colleagues argued that today's elephant populations are suffering from a form of chronic stress, a kind of species-wide trauma. Decades of poaching and culling and habitat loss, they claim, have so disrupted the intricate web of familial and societal relations by which young elephants have traditionally been raised in the wild, and by which established elephant herds are governed, that what we are now witnessing is nothing less than a precipitous collapse of elephant culture… It has long been apparent that every large, land-based animal on this planet is ultimately fighting a losing battle with humankind. And yet entirely befitting of an animal with such a highly developed sensibility, a deep-rooted sense of family and, yes, such a good long-term memory, the elephant is not going out quietly. It is not leaving without making some kind of statement, one to which scientists from a variety of disciplines, including human psychology, are now beginning to pay close attention."

Early this month, murder rampaged three schools in America, and a fourth school was saved from a semi-automatic rifle wielding 16 year-old, by a Principle who calmly, gently, reached this child and prevented another disaster. And a nuclear North Korea is our own psychotic shadow facing us squarely in the eye. What have we come to? Our violence has become so widespread, so expected, and unfortunately, so completely nurtured in our young through violent video games and TV. Relationship has become passé and irrelevant. It's almost as if humans are giving permission to a belief system which goes something like this: You don't like someone, or something they believe? Fine, just get rid of them.

So more than ever, this year we all need to do very serious ritual work on this New Moon in Libra; the sign of justice, negotiation, deep-listening, love and caring for "the other." On a personal level, it is time for each of us to come into relationship with our own responsibility to be a part of the solution and not part of the problem. If our own lives are full of conflict and dis-ease, how can we possibly rail against those who wreak havoc on a global level? Look within, get active, and shower love locally; your actions and intentions will reverberate out like waves in a pond, shifting the entropic downward spiral we see happening all around us.

Because the Libra New Moon rules love and relationship, this is the most powerful New Moon for bringing new love into your life. This year, the Libra New Moon has a lot of help from a very tight conjunction with Sun, Venus and Mars in Libra, and the Mercury/Jupiter in Scorpio square Saturn in Leo. This should make all your ritual work (and there are a lot of suggestions in this Moon Message) potently real and action-oriented.

Okay, all that said, let's move into our New Moon ritual working space of love and relationship. While it is true that most of us would rather be with others than alone, rarely are people taught the necessary skills for creating good relationships. Our "learn as you go along" approach to love often leads to painful and heartbreaking experiences. Your failed relationships may have taught you a lot, but have you learned enough to prevent making the same mistakes with someone new?

Lots of people come for readings to find out when they will meet the right person. My first question is always, "Are you are getting out and meeting people?" Most of the time, the answer I hear is, "no." The crapshoot of dating brings up so much fear and keeps many people from doing it at all. We worry about what kind of person we will attract, about past history, baggage, character, integrity and trustworthiness. Though the unknown is scary, the truth is, love requires vulnerability and trust. So if you are ready for love, your main concern should be figuring out exactly what you want, and being strong enough to settle for nothing less.

Enter the New Moon in Libra! This is the perfect time, through ritual, to clearly define your qualifications for a relationship, and set the intention to make it happen. This ritual should be done in an environment that is comforting and full of romantic ambiance. Your bedroom is the ideal location. However, before you begin, clear the room of clutter and make it inviting by filling it with flowers, candles, and incense. You might even decide to invest in a new mattress or whole new bed as a symbol of a brand new start.

I recommend a New Moon in Libra ritual that revolves around serious list making. Libra is the communicator and this is the time to clearly communicate what you want, so the universe can line up behind your intention and make it a reality. (Venus in Libra should temper the intensity of Jupiter/Mercury in Scorpio. Hopefully finding ways to be honest with yourself will come without being brutal.) Create your lists as though you are weaving a piece of fabric, using your mental and emotional energy to build intention with substance and form. Here are some list suggestions.

Lists for those of you who have yet to find "the right one":
List 1: What kind of partners have you attracted in the past that you don't want in your future?
List 2: What behavior of your own has contributed to the failure of your past relationships?
List 3: What kind of love do you deserve and why have you been unable to manifest it?
List 4: What kind of partner/relationship do you want in your future?
List 5: What new venues or activities will help widen your choice of perspective partners?
List 6: Now custom-build the right partner and be specific! Include their emotional capabilities, career, interests, character type, physical characteristics, and future goals.

Lists for those of you who have lost a wonderful partner and are ready for someone new:
List 1: Write all about your lost love: the great, the bad, the beautiful, and the ugly.
List 2: Write all about you. Who were you then, and who are you now?
List 3: What kind of person will fit who you have become?
List 4: What kind of relationship will fit who you are now?
List 5: Write about the fear of putting yourself out there.
List 6: What new venues or activities will help widen your choice of perspective partners?

End the ritual by making a commitment to begin taking action on the Taurus Full Moon (November 5.) When you have finished, place the lists in a sacred place somewhere in your bedroom. Read the lists each day while the Moon is waxing to full. Don't be afraid to refine or edit the lists. It helps build the energy. Some people make collages that represent partners and new relationships. Anything that helps you to be clear about your desires is useful.

Those of you who are already in a relationship can use the Libra New Moon for building a stronger, deeper love. Mars and Venus in Libra and Mercury/Jupiter in Scorpio will help to increase the ability to be truthful with partners, while practicing deep listening from the heart. This is a great New Moon phase for working on problems, especially if they revolve around poor communication.

Since Libra rules all forms of relating, this is not only applicable for couples, but also for family and work relationships. Libra revels in openness and sharing. So don't do this ritual alone! It takes at least two to make a relationship. So use this ritual to build mutual intention toward healing your problems. Libra is the listener of the zodiac. The only way to achieve fairness and understanding is to share your feelings and then carefully listen to the feelings of others. Use this time to engage in meaningful discussions. Libra rules compromise and negotiation and helps us learn to get what we want while making the other party feel like the winner. Win/win is the way of Libra! This is a great time to work on troublesome family interactions and to set goals for creating more family time.

If money is one of those issues that creates a lot of conflict in your relationship, this is the Venus-ruled New Moon to set new goals for budgeting, saving, and spending. With Saturn (responsibility) in Leo (personal power and creativity), Venus (finances) and Mars (action) in Libra (negotiation), this is the time to set goals and look deeply at what a secure financial future might mean? Mercury in Scorpio should help you communicate your deepest fears and talk about the roots of conflict that stir arguments and misunderstanding around money issues.Vulnerability and honesty is the key to making this work a success.

The New Moon is Libra is a great time to caretake intimate relationships. Often the demands of work and parenting sidetrack many couples and make it hard to find private time for intimacy. Love needs tending to remain vibrant and strong. So use this night to do some caretaking, and revel in the joy of your love. Remember those goals you set way back in the beginning of your relationship? If they are still applicable, reinvigorate them and set new guidelines for achieving them through teamwork. If those old goals don't fit anymore, be creative and set new ones to fit who you have both become.

The New Moon in Libra is the perfect time to commit to creating a more peaceful life, especially when faced with mounting hatred and misunderstanding. Here is my own relationship "action list" that I will work to cultivate on this New Moon in Libra. Feel free to use it!

1. Learn to listen without interrupting.
2. Before losing my temper, I will stop, breathe, and be compassionate in my thinking.
3. Think before I speak.
4. Remember that compromise is the basic building block of all solutions.
5. Violence is never an appropriate response.
6. Embrace differences without being attached to them.
7. Remember that "the truth" is relative, but honesty about "my truth" is imperative.
8. If someone claims to be my enemy, they don't really know me, they only know who they think I am. It is my job to make them a friend by letting them get to know me.
9. Try to be objective about my own faults when criticizing others.
10. If I give a little, I get a lot. If I give a lot, I get more than I could ever imagine.
11. Saying and doing everything with love and respect is the only way to win.

These Libran principles are applicable to all our relationships, be they intimate, familial or professional. Think of how different our world would be if we all practiced these values. There is a higher way that does not include violence. This is the New Moon to remind yourself that all any of us ever really needs is love! And yes, you do deserve to be loved!!!

That's an excellent article!
Lots to think about with practical advice.

The problem with starting a relationship now is that Mercury is about to go retrograde for 3 weeks. Anything that starts up at this time won't get very far before people start backtracking. Not only that, but it tends to bring back people from one's past (probably to finish off old business).

There's a high-alert warning that begins now and lasts until nearly the end of October. One reason is that Mercury is poised to go retrograde by Sat Oct 28 while Neptune shifts from retrograde to direct early on Sun Oct 29.
These stations help to create a lot of confusion and uncertainty in the days ahead.

Magnifying this potential obfuscation is the last of three Jupiter-Saturn squares (Wed, Oct 25) in a series of large-planet challenges that began in December 2005.

Add on last night's Sun-Marsrendezvous, a Mercury-Saturn square this morning (6:07AM EDT), the Sun entering Scorpio (9:28AMEDT) and Mars entering Scorpio (12:39PMEDT), and you have all the ingredients for a very spicy stew of unknown power and consistency.

The Mercury-Saturn face-off can coincide with delays or frustrations if the energies are negative.
However, career success and breakthroughs are still within your grasp
if you tap into the positive side of this cosmic pattern.

The best news arrives during the monthly Moon-Jupiter (1:44AM EDT tomorrow)
and Moon-Mercury (2:57AM EDT Tuesday) conjunctions.

Pick up where you left off on Sunday when Mercury and Jupiter synchronized in Scorpio. Be a master of communication and higher learning.
At the Moon-Mercury link, the lunar orb starts a void cycle that lasts until 2:54PM EDT tomorrow.
Steer clear of making irrevocable overnight decisions.

Looks like mysterious Scorpio is having quite the get-together this month. As of October 23, the Sun, Mars, Venus, Mercury, Jupiter and Moon will all be in the throes of the Scorpion's intense energy.
Six planets in this fixed water sign will make for some imbalance and confusion. Let's just say the next few weeks might feel a bit like one of those parties where nobody really knows quite what to say or do with one other -- let alone themselves!
Scorpio's watery influence also makes this a time when decisions will have to be made -- for instance, do you trick or do you treat?

And if Scorpio's scintillating presence isn't enough to get you twitching with anticipation about the coming weeks, Mercury goes retrograde October 28 and will continue to be so until November 17.
The perfect Halloween costume for this year? Get into a six-foot globe, cut a couple of holes in it for your legs and be Mercury retrograde! Walk your entire trick-or-treat route backward. And when you're through, be sure and share your proverbial bag full of goodies with the world.

Of all that's ever been written about Scorpio over the years, much of it -- no, most of it -- has been unfair, negative and worded so that those born under this Sun sign sound downright intimidating.
It's as if simply getting to know them requires superhuman courage and a fully armed bodyguard. Well, we're about to put an end to all that nonsense. It's true that Scorpios are not for the faint of heart. They're not shallow, they won't be manipulated and they will never, ever 'settle' for less than what they really want.

In the Scorpio mind, 'settling' equates with giving up -- and that's something else they'd never, ever do. Scorpios won't stop working toward a goal until they're convinced that it's impossible -- which takes some doing.

Even when they're not on a mission, Scorpios are still undoubtedly sniffing out clues. They're born detectives who are always on duty, analysts who never stop digging for answers, and investigators who are perpetually in search of information. A mystery is an invitation to these folks; what's below the surface is simply irresistible.

And speaking of irresistible, if you're attracted to a Scorpio and vice versa, whether it's been 24 years or 24 hours, rest assured that they'll never cease to amaze, astound and startle you. Just when you think you've got them all figured out (although you likely stopped laboring under that illusion shortly after you two met), they'll say or do something that will cause you to find them even more fascinating. They're loyal to a fault -- but maybe just a bit too jealous at times, so don't play games with that emotion -- and perfectly willing to fire walk for you. And whether or not you opt to make the relationship legal, 'until death do us part' will always apply. Their love will literally last forever.

With six planets moving into Scorpio, prepare for a wild ride ahead -- and be sure to wear a helmet! And then, as if that weren't enough, the heavens deal the cosmos even more turbulence as Mercury turns retrograde November 18th.

October 23: The Sun and Mars enter Scorpio; October 24: Venus enters Scorpio

Think of the Sun as the director, Mars as the advocate or warrior, and Venus as the mediator or lover.
As all three head into Scorpio, the most passionate sign of the zodiac, deep feelings ignite and no one is likely to be lukewarm about anything.
They meet up in a triple conjunction, and this powerful trio will be residing somewhere in your own chart. Is that a good thing? If you can harness this determined energy and give it something productive to do, you'll be able to do more this week than you've probably done all year!
Mars sets a new course as it enters Scorpio, where it will remain until December 6. You can use this powerful energy to take you wherever you want to go. If you know your own chart, use this energy to reform and transform the life area and relationships represented by the house that Mars is traveling through. With Venus in Scorpio, the urge is to connect profoundly. Less than that simply won't do.

October 25: Jupiter squares Saturn

Both Jupiter transiting through Scorpio and Saturn traveling through Leo are direct, but because of their previous retrogrades, this Jupiter-Saturn square also occurred back on December 17, 2005 and June 22, 2006.
This describes a significant change in your worldview, and you are likely to consider making some lifestyle changes. This aspect doesn't occur very often, so it's important when it does.
Jupiter represents how we relate to the world, and Saturn represents how we construct the life we want. It's time to cut back on excesses. What are yours? This is also a great time to assess areas of life where you are overcommitted. People who are a drain rather than an asset to your life will get a thorough review now.

Are they worth the time and energy you put into them? How about your job? Is it time to consider work that more accurately reflects who you are? This has been a 10-month transit, and you are now ready to put the finishing touches on your life plan.

October 28: Mercury turns retrograde

Mercury goes retrograde for approximately 21 days three times each year. This time, Mercury will be retrograde until November 17.
Mercury rules all forms of communication, and when Mercury turns around and goes back through territory it's already traversed, it is time for you, too, to travel back.
Nothing beats this time for looping back to old contacts, reviewing your ideas and rethinking how you are scheduling your time. Making future-oriented decisions now can get you into trouble.
Misunderstanding, indecision and anxiety occur because not enough information is available. Do yourself a favor and use this astrological information to your advantage.
While everybody else is running around fixing all of those mistakes they are making, sit down, pour yourself a tasty beverage and relax!

October 29: Neptune turns direct

Neptune stations direct, finally ending its retrograde, which began on May 22. Neptune goes retrograde each year and has been retrograde in Aquarius since 1998.
Neptune in Aquarius represents the quest for a better life, for freedom, equality, peace and contentment. We are tuned in to our hopes, our wishes and our dreams.
It's the spiritualization of group consciousness. During the retrograde, it has been important to delve into these themes. Now, it's time to run with them. So, what's your dream? For greater insight, examine the house in your own chart where the yearly retrograde in Aquarius occurs as well as its direct periods.

October 30: Mercury conjuncts Jupiter; November 1: Mercury squares Saturn

As Mercury turns retrograde and returns to conjunct Jupiter and square Saturn, you are delving more deeply into your ideas and how you want to communicate them. Your mind is working overtime. As you search for creative solutions, there are many profitable conversations to be had and plenty of tweaking of projects and plans. You may be challenged to explain your thoughts, ideas and point of view. Do your homework and you'll be fine.

November 5: Full Moon in Taurus

This is a very interesting full Moon: The Moon is in Taurus all by itself opposite a whole lot of Scorpio, including the Scorpio Sun. (The Moon and Sun are always opposite each other at a full Moon.)
Now, the relationship planets Venus and Mars stand guard on either side of the Sun, while Mercury and Jupiter are close by in Scorpio.
Taurus rules money and the material world, as well as themes of value and worth. This is where your emotions are.
With so much Scorpio, a sign of power and other people's values and money, others have something to say, and you may feel pressure to meet someone else's needs or agenda.
The full Moon is also an emotional high-tide time. In Taurus, do something that helps you feel materially or physically comfortable, whether you make a plan to save money, vow to treat your possessions more kindly, tune in to nature or formulate values that accurately reflect where you are in your life.
The goal is to make the kind of tangible, practical investments in your life that make you feel content and secure.
Loyalty is a feature of Taurus, and being loyal to yourself as well as to others is important. In the days following the full Moon but before the next new Moon on November 20, take the time you need to get into your comfort zone.

This full Moon will most affect readers born November 3-7, January 31-February 3, May 1-5 and August 3-7.

November 6: Venus squares Neptune; November 12: Venus squares Saturn

Venus, the planet of love, transiting through passionate Scorpio gets a reality check from Saturn and a dose of romance from Neptune. In your important relationships, you are likely to see-saw between practical considerations and your idealism.
The challenge here is to retain you faith in the power of love while also taking into account the human mortal messiness of relationships. That's not too tall an order is it? You'll do fine if you remember that romantic love is enhanced by the healthy boundaries of Saturn.

November 8: Mercury squares Neptune

When Mercury entered the water sign Scorpio on October 2 your thoughts became colored by feelings, and the intensity level of your conversations ratcheted up.

When retrograde Mercury backs into a square with Neptune this week, communication can get a little foggy making this a poor time to negotiate or to clear up misunderstandings. There is a fair amount of uncertainty in this aspect. You may not be told relevant information or you may withhold important facts. Make sure you take your time to think things through and importantly listen to others and read between the lines.

November 9: Sun squares Neptune

When the Sun squares Neptune you may feel like you just drove into a fog bank. Figuring out who you are and where you're going without familiar landmarks is the challenge now.
So, this week do yourself a favor and don't try to figure out the future. Find a quiet place, whether it's in your bedroom or under a Bodi tree. Escape from the world and commune with nature, write your innermost thoughts in a journal or listen to music.
Logic is not helpful now. Instead, be imaginative, be a visionary.

November 17: Sun squares Saturn

It's time for a reality check as the Sun squares Saturn. Assessment about your responsibilities are highlighted and deciding what you want to be responsible for is just as important as deciding what you don't want to be responsible for.
You'll be challenged to weed out superfluous activities as well as balance what you want with issues of the greater good. It's what being a grownup is all about!

November 17: Venus enters Sagittarius

You may feel the urge to experience something new and different as the premiere relationship planet Venus enters fiery, nomadic, philosophically-oriented Sagittarius.
Freedom is the focus now along with the urge to break free from limitations. You may ask yourself, 'What is love anyway? Can I be close and free at the same time?' Why not strap on your backpack, get out the roller blades, check out some air fares, or at least go out to the newest ethnic restaurant. And if you feel like it, take someone with you!

November 17: Mars squares Neptune

This week Mars climbs on the see-saw of the Saturn Neptune opposition squaring Neptune this week and Saturn at the end of the month.
When Mars, the planet of action, meets all-inclusive spiritual Neptune, actions can become confusing since you want to act on your own behalf while remaining considerate of others at the same time.
You may question what you're doing. You may be unsure about the best course of action. This doesn't mean that you don't do anything! Take your time. Mix in the drive of a Scorpio-Mars and blend it with the idealism of Neptune in Aquarius. Not a bad combo.

November 17: Mercury turns direct

As Mercury turns direct in Scorpio, it's time to begin to incorporate everything you've learned during the Mercury retrograde period. Take your time though with Mercury remaining in a tight square with Neptune. Conversations and your mind continue to wander a bit. You'll have so much more clarity in December when you'll be able to institute new plans and decisions with total comfort.

November 20: New Moon in Scorpio

Your desires and passions are strong with the Moon in this intense sign. Take the power of this new Moon cycle and invest in something you want to grow. Scorpio is the sign of transformation making this a perfect lunar cycle to decide what you need to let go of. We all accumulate a bit of emotional baggage over time. It's time to empower yourself by releasing what can't be changed.

This new Moon will most affect readers born November 19-23, February 16-20, May 18-22 and August 20-24.

November 20: Uranus turns direct

Just when you think you know what's going on, something happens to make sure you're staying awake.
Change is in the air. Freedom and independence are big issues right now for everybody, which means that your individual relationship with these themes is pivotal.
The more comfortable you are with the concept of change in general, the more you will be able to utilize this dynamic energy. Don't worry that you don't know where everything is heading.
There's no way to know right now. We're at the beginning of this transition. But, don't hit the Cosmic Snooze Alarm! Instead, wake up and look to the future. We live in a changing world. Now, it's time for you to change along with it.

** Astrolesson: Mercury Retrograde

Mercury -- messenger of the gods, ruler of communication -- turns retrograde October 28 and remains so through November 17. Appearing to be spinning backward through the heavens, Mercury's unusual moves can wreak havoc on the seemingly normal things in our daily lives, so don't be surprised by delayed plans, frozen computers and stalled cars.
It's not a great idea to start anything new until late November, so until then, just lie low, stay loose and ride the rhythm of the retrograde. Fight any potential Mercury-retrograde blues by learning all about Your Communication Sign. Calm, clarity and learning to chill are all powerful tools during this potentially confusing period.

In being aware of this occurrence in the heavens, you can actually use Mercury's retrograde to your advantage. It's a great time to reconnect with old friends and revisit days gone by.
Also, be sure to spend some quality time with yourself -- perhaps when your phone battery dies mid-conversation, or while you're stuck in traffic on the way home -- and refocus your energies toward replenishing yourself.
That way, when chats go haywire and plans go awry, you'll have a smile on your face in knowing that you won't let the little stuff bring you down. This too shall pass!

October 25
The Moon is in Sagittarius all day, where it is playful, optimistic, and outgoing. We are motivated by a need to seek the truth, and we are ready to pursue a new vision. We are not interested in details just now. Instead, we focus on the big picture. New experiences and adventures satisfy a deep emotional need. Spontaneity is the key. We may also be inclined toward overdoing and overstating. We don't want to plan ahead, and prefer to "wing it". Venus conjuncts Mars early today, enlivening and energizing our creative and romantic impulses. We are now able to take the initiative to achieve harmony and sexual fulfillment. Acting on our impulses towards pleasure and love comes naturally now. Social relations are impassioned, and perhaps demanding or extreme. Impulsive purchases are possible. Joining together in an emotional and/or sexual union becomes highly important. The erotic impulses of love, desire, and sexuality are a highly charged focus of our attention. Expressing our passions in harmonious and pleasing ways is emphasized. This is a time of balancing and integrating yin and yang energies within ourselves. We have a chance to express our needs, passions, and desires now in (ideally) effective ways. Venus is diplomatic, gentle, romantic, and sensitive, while Mars is more forceful, sexual, and assertive. Venus can act to soften Mars' aggressiveness, or Mars can make Venus' romantic impulses more forceful and pressing. It can go either way. Impulsive attractions, love at first sight scenarios, and passionate encounters are possible. Playful competitiveness in our relationships is strong now. Jupiter's square to Saturn also comes exact today, and we are in a position in which we must choose between two equally attractive alternatives.

As of 3 p.m., GO Transit had cancelled the Burlington train leaving for Union Station at 2:14. Passengers were being told they could catch the 3:14 from Burlington.

Earlier, GO Transit cancelled some other trains along the Lakeshore line due to switch problems.

Mercury retrogrades aren't always bad....they just seem that way.

Venus trines Uranus today. We lose our fear of taking risks at this time, and we happily embrace all that is new, unusual, and out-of-the-ordinary with regards to romantic involvements as well as financial undertakings. We are ready to experiment, but not necessarily ready to commit. Creative inspiration can be had now. Normally under this influence, we have an offbeat, pleasant attitude and people are more willing to socialize. However, Venus also semi-squares Pluto, lending a more intense energy to the mix. Some underlying tensions in our social interactions and relationships are possible--for example, looking for an ulterior motive or an agenda, jealousies, or suspiciousness. Retrograde Mercury revisits its square to Saturn, and we may bring up an argument that we had around October 22-23. We should probably avoid trying to push our opinions on others, or communicating in a self-righteous manner. As well, harping on (or worrying about) insignificant matters is a tendency. It will be especially important to avoid nitpicking about the words people choose to communicate, and to remember that during Mercury retrograde, people don't say what they mean or mean what they say! The Moon in "go with the flow" Pisces may help to ease the tension.

GUARANTEED!
I just had a High Lather day, but it was fun lather, based on verbal miscommunication.
Lots of screaming and shouting.
It was wild and crazy fun.

While the Moon is in Pisces (until 10:47 AM EST), endings, reflection, and perhaps some confusion of purpose, tend to figure prominently. In contrast, the Moon in Aries (from 10:47 AM EST) is about new beginnings, initiative, courage, and spontaneity. Our first reactions to any kind of challenge are active and defensive. Although we tend to feel fresh and invigorated under an Aries Moon, we can also be impatient and uncompromising. The Sun semi-squares Pluto today, and will trine Uranus tomorrow. A tendency to want to control our lives through some form of manipulation is strong during this influence. Meeting with obstacles in our paths, however, can force us into the position of using all of our resources to fight back, and we can discover resources we never knew we had in the process.

The Moon is void from 2:55 AM EST, with the Moon's last aspect before changing signs (a trine to Jupiter), until the Moon enters Aries at 10:47 AM.

Don't be in too much of a hurry this morning. Wait until the coast is clear as the Moon is shifting gears from Pisces (the end of the zodiac) to Aries (the beginning of the zodiac). When this occurs (7:47AM PST), you can be more assertive and independent. Set forth your agenda and know you can cut the mustard. If associates, relatives and friends try to interfere with or block your most determined efforts, keep on trucking.

The key to success today -- on a variety of levels -- is how you handle a Sun-Pluto 45-degree link (4:45AM PST). Whenever the center of the solar system connects with the outermost planet, a tremendous subliminal and underworld power becomes available to you. It's a great day to conduct research and proceed with investigative or detective work.

Some people may experience the big chill in romance due to a Venus-Saturn contra-parallel (1:35AM PST). However, this cool vibration on the love front will dissipate with each passing hour.

Emotional fireworks could explode around the time of a Moon-Mars awkward 150-degree sky pattern (7:15PM PST). This lunar link with the red planet will be short-lived.

Plunge into your metaphysical studies or online work this evening as the Sun approaches a harmonious trine with Uranus (exact at 4:03AM PST tomorrow morning).

The Moon is in pioneering Aries all day today. As if the energy weren't fresh enough, the Sun also forms a pleasing trine to Uranus, and we are especially forward-looking. An original, unique approach to life is in order with this transit, and works to our benefit. Flexibility is the key to success at this time, and pleasant changes are in store. We may make some creative changes and discoveries, experiment with new possibilities, or invent a new way of doing things. This is a dynamic and exciting period--one in which taking advantage of unusual or unconventional opportunities may reap rewards. Creative license, spontaneity, improvisation, and discovery are stimulated now. This is a time to free ourselves from a limiting habit or routine. With the Sun and Uranus in water signs, new material and insights can come from deep within, through dreams, and through emotional connections with others
